Blackmon Shares GCAC Women’s Basketball Player Of The Week Honor

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Junior center Katie Blackmon won her second GCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week award of the season, sharing the accolade with Philander Smith's Rakia Lane.

Blackmon, an Olive Branch, Mississippi native, was purely dominant in the team's overtime victory over Stillman last Tuesday, posting a double-double with 20 points and 16 rebounds. She contributed game-highs in both double-double categories as well as for blocks (3) while shooting 58.3% (7-of-12) on the night and committing zero turnovers.

Head Coach Eric Jackson, Blackmon and the rest of the Lady Bearcats have the rest of 2021 off before heading to Little Rock on January 5 to face the Arkansas Baptist Buffaloes at 5:30 p.m.
