TALLADEGA, Ala. – The Rust College softball program began its final year as an NAIA Independent team in disappointing fashion, dropping its first two contests in league play by finals of 20-0 and 13-3, both in five frames.

Rust Top Performers:

• Leona Joshua had arguably the best day at the dish for the Blue and White, hitting .600 (3-for-5) with a pair of RBIs plus a double.

• Haley Weatherspoon was one of the other highlights of the offensive outing versus the Tornadoes, going 3-of-6 (.500) while stealing two bags.

• Roniyah Campbell had the club's other extra-base hit, clubbing a two-bagger before eventually scoring.

• Julie Gammage logged a stolen base in addition to a ribbie as she collected two singles in four at-bats.

• Ayanna Williams drew the lone base on balls on the afternoon and Latissia "Kami" Porter poked a base knock too.

• On the mound, Joshua (4) and Williams (2) sat down a half-dozen Talladega batters on strikes.
