First Half Woes Continue For Bearcats Vs. Jarvis Christian

TEXARKANA, Texas – The Rust College men's basketball program saw its struggles in the opening 20 minutes from the night prior carry into Saturday as the Blue and White won the second half but lost the game, 77-69.

Davonte Craven went 10-of-15 (66.7%) with a game-high 24 points along with team-highs of five rebounds and four assists, swiping two steals in the process as well.

Keshon Tabb put together a similar stat line to Craven, posting 18 points and a Bearcat-best four steals on top of three assists and three boards.

Dwayne Walker tied with Craven for the team lead with four assists, bringing in four rebounds and knocking away one of the club's three blocks.

Rust won both the turnover battle (14-21) and doubled up the Bulldogs in steals (12-6), but a minus-14 rebounding margin cost them as well as Jarvis Christian's big night from distance with 11 three-pointers.

The Bearcats are back in the W.A. McMillan Center on Tuesday when it faces Texarkana for the second time in five days following the women's contest.
