PANAMA CITY, Fla. – The Rust College men's basketball program used a designed inbounds layup from junior forward Devante Lanier as time expired to launch the Bearcats past 20th-ranked LSU-Shreveport, 65-64.
The Blue and White held a potent Pilots offense to just 11.1% from three while the Bearcats were 8-of-22 (36.4%).
Lanier was at or near the top in most categories for RC as his stat-line read 12 points, eight rebounds (game-high), three steals (game-high), two assists and a 66.7 field-goal percentage (6-for-9).
Strothers led the way in scoring 13 points while Keshon Tabb provided ten as well.
Tabb was dishing out scoring opportunities left and right, passing out a game-best five assists including the game-winner as the clock hit zeroes.
Rust College concludes the three-day tournament at 4:45 p.m. when the Bearcats take on Faulkner.
